1.About: Sanjay Tiwari (born 3 June 1966) is a branding, marketing and advertising strategy consultant and an entrepreneur based in New Delhi, India. He has over two decades of high quality experience and expertise in online and offline marketing, brand building, marketing communications, online market research and the digital eco-system in India. He has a highly factual and holistic understanding of both the Indian digital market space as well as the overall Indian consumer market space. He has authored two books and has taught advertising, marketing and brand management courses as visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Amity University and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
2.Biography Sanjay studied Economics at University of Delhi and then followed it up with an International MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Netherlands in 1992. During his management studies, he went on an exchange programme and spent a semester at the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago.
He started his professional career in 1993 with Banaras House, an Indian international trading company, working for them in marketing and merchandising. But he soon moved on to the advertising world and spent close to 6 years working with leading ad agencies like Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi and FCB and managing some reputed brands like Hyundai, Whirlpool, Panasonic, Hewlett Packard, etc.
In 1999, Sanjay migrated to Australia, but to be back in India after a very short time of 5 months spent in Sydney. Not wanting to do the 9-5 routine anymore, he branched out as an Independent Branding, Marketing and Advertising Consultant. For next 4 years he associated himself with brand consultancies and ad agencies, undertaking advisory projects that included solving brand, communication and marketing strategy related issues for clients such as Hero Honda, HP, JK Paper, JK .Dairy, Sarovar Hotels, Mayar Group, Nucleus Software and more.
In 2005 he turned an entrepreneur with JuxtConsult, a company that pioneered online market research in India. He remained the Founding CEO of the company till 2012 and brought out highly credible and highly media quoted studies on the penetration and usage of internet and mobile in India.
Since 2012, Sanjay has taken up to playing the dual role of being an Entrepreneur as well as a
Strategic Advisor. He has founded Net Potatoes Internet Ventures, an online start up that launched a general awareness quiz game website ‘Quizjackpot.com’ and is also the Marketing & Product Strategy Advisor to Indicus Analytics, a leading consumer demographics and economic research firm in India (taken over by Nielsen India in 2014) and Indicus Netlabs, a company that owns and runs one of the largest Hindi infotainment portals, Raftaar.in.
